If someone had told me that I was going to be doing a photo shoot for a magazine cover even a couple of years ago I would have said "me, never! who would want be to do that!" but Esprit Yoga magazine have done just that and I went up to Paris with my hair suitably blow-dried to a studio and spent over 3 hours in variations of pigeon for the advanced sequence in the March/April edition and another 40 minutes in different poses for the front cover. I emerged slightly shell shocked with subtle pink lipstick on into the Paris night ... relief .... then followed 3 days of intense yoga practise, teaching and a few glorious sessions with Elena Brower (over from New York) and Marc Holzman (just baack from LA) ... such a treat to spend time with them and dip into a whole realm of different experiences after a rather off the grid Summer down here in the Ardeche.
Paris was as evere busy but as always strangely romantic and beautiful.....

Home with the girls now and finally some glorious sunshine. Yoga in the courtyard, my garden sanctuary and of course my girls. love love and love to all the yogis in Paris and the two little yoginis back here

Its the year of the horse…..

2014 and galloping It has been a while since I penned a yogic mummy text but I have not been static. Life has moved into a pace I can only call frantic and the days are getting longer and nights shorter – ie I am eating into the night time hours to catch up on things I just have not been able to cram into the spaces of time I have. Life has changed rather radically as I moved out familiar surroundings and into a new home, as I started to share my children’s time with my husband and we both got used to being apart after 14 years together, as the Winter season has kicked in a pace with new students, rooms, time schedules and as all sorts of new projects get under way…… But despite all the change, late nights, tiring days there a few amazing and beautiful things that are surfacing and that make me realise a) I have made totally the right decision to act on the deepest truths within me and b) that I am extremely lucky to have the life I have. I never felt like I looked like or acted like the other “little girls”.   I went o my ballet class just like the other girls and just like them dreamt of being a ballet dancer on the big stage, graceful and full of light elegance. The Circle Continues It has been a while since I posted here. It has been an intense couple of years and as I reach the end of 2018 I feel I have emptied myself out completely and phoenix-like from the ashes I rise again.  Where do I even start?  As a mother….I feel I have definitely had a feeling of failing my children at times. Juggling too many things at once, juggling emotionally challenging issues with them, my partner, myself, trying to grow as a woman, mother, partner, person…. Everything mixed up into one. You never really feel you are doing enough. And yet you so are! The Children are growing up fast! My 15 year old Mélodie is off at boarding school and fast becoming a beautiful young lady…. Each mother I think goes through this passage of time - the letting go, allowing just enough freedom.
